CHUMUCKLA - Jeff Foxworthy released an album called Redneck Games back in the 1990's.
Well, Jeff must be very proud as the members of the Chumuckla Athletic Association have taken their annual Redneck Christmas Parade one step further and will hold the first ever Chumuckla Redneck Christmas Festival this weekend.
Since the start of the Redneck Christmas Parade in Chumuckla the athletic association has sponsored many needy families in the area for Christmas and through the efforts of the festival they are hoping to double or triple that.
Saturday's events include a car and bike show that will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., bands and music, food and vendors, and the biggest focus for Saturday the first ever Redneck Games.
Events planned for this year will be Redneck fishing, sack races, frying pan toss, mullet toss, cow patty bingo, and a greasy pig contest.
Games are scheduled to start at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Chumuckla Ballpark.
Then on Sunday will be the annual Redneck Parade at 2 p.m.
There is still time to register for the parade and applications for the parade can be obtained at the Pace Area Chamber of Commerce, from any Chumuckla Athletic Association member, or on-line at www.chumucklaathleticsfl.com.
