Louis Louis' opening on 98 is huge success

The iconic Red Bar’s sister restaurant, Louis Louis, officially opened Feb. 26 on U.S. Highway 98W in Santa Rosa Beach at the former Café Provence location.

Co-owner Philippe Petit said the opening has been a huge success.

“About 250 dinners were served Friday night and that many again on Saturday,” he said.

That number does not include those served at the bar.

A VIP pre-opening introduction to the new eatery was Feb. 25 for friends and patrons of the Petit family. Around 350 dinners were served that night, not including bar orders, said Petit.

Like The Red Bar and the family’s former 3-Thirty-1 restaurant, Louis Louis holds true to form with its eclectic, edgy style. The chandeliers, red lights, signs and mismatched chairs have been brought out of storage and grace the laid-back dining establishment.

The menu remains the same as that found at The Red Bar — five large-helping delectable choices from the chalkboard menu.   

Philippe is one of four family members who own the restaurant. The other owners include his father, Louis, and brothers Oliver and Louis. The younger Louis just moved from Arkansas to manage the establishment.

The restaurant, which can seat 100 inside, and 30 to 40 outside, is open seven days a week for dinner from 5-10 p.m. The bar remains open later.
