Semiole Wars lecture series

FORT WALTON BEACH, FL - The City's Heritage Park and Cultural Center is continuing its Seminole Wars Lecture Series with the "Second Creek War of West Florida" lecture at noon June 26 inside the Indian Temple Mound Museum main gallery.

The Creek War lecture will be delivered by Dr. Brian Rucker, a historian and professor of history at Pensacola Junior College and the University of West Florida. Visitors are encouraged to bring a bag lunch and eat while they listen.

An exhibit titled "Seminole Wars: The Fight for Florida inside the Indian Temple Mound Museum's Lazarus Education Center will also be displayed until Aug. 11.

Heritage Park and the Indian Temple Mound Museum, 139 Miracle Strip Parkway S.E., are open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. The exhibit is included in regular admission: $5 plus tax for adults, $4.50 plus tax for seniors 55 + and active military, and $3 plus tax for children 4 to 17.
