Choose a wedding planner you "click" with
Keep in mind that you will be working very closely with your planner until your wedding day so it is very important that you choose someone you feel comfortable with, as well as someone who will offer you ideas and is open to making your day everything you have ever dreamed it would be.
Make sure to read reviews on the planner you choose. Never let them make you feel pressured into signing the contract until you are ready.
Choose an appropriate dress for the season and location
If you are having an outside ceremony and reception during the summer make sure to choose a dress that will breathe and is not super heavy. You will be in this dress for several hours. The last thing you want is to be miserable — and you certainly don't want to be sweating in all of your pictures.
Make this day easy on your parents and family
Sometimes brides will want their moms, aunts or family members to cook the food for the reception.
Keep in mind this is a special day for them as well.
Although, you may want that special touch or that certain dish that no one can make like mom. Make sure to keep it easy on her. Not only is this a very special day for moms it is also a very emotional day for them.
Try to eliminate as much stress or responsibilities from mom's aunt's, and family members will allow them to enjoy this very special day with you.
Pictures last forever
I can not tell you how many married people that I have encountered that have told me they wish would have gotten a professional photographer for their wedding.
Every photographer has their own style and every bride has their own style. Make sure to choose a photographer that you feel takes the style of pictures that you are looking for.
Flexibility on a back up plan for an outdoor wedding
Since we have some of the most beautiful beaches in the world a lot of brides want a wedding on the beach and an outside reception. Make sure when you are planning your wedding that you and your planner have a back up plan.
Some of the back up plans can be tent, just make sure the place you are renting will allow a tent on the property. You can also be flexible with the start time of the ceremony, you can have your coordinator or planner check the weather to see how long the rain will last. If it is a short period of time, you can adjust the start time of the ceremony so that you can still have your outside wedding. Flexibility with the the venue may also help during inclement weather.

Relax and enjoy your day with your family.
I always tell my brides, "My job is to stress, not yours. If you are stressing I am not doing my job."
So any issues that you may have turn them over to your planner or coordinator and let them handle them. That is what you are paying them for.
