CRESTVIEW — Bamboo Sushi Bar & Hibachi Express is in the Crestview Corners shopping center between Cato Fashions and Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
Bamboo Sushi offers a number of appetizers on their menu, and the soup and salad are included there.
Our choice to begin our meal was a bowl of rich, flavorful miso soup, followed by a light, refreshing cucumber salad.
Other appetizer items include edamame; spring rolls; pork gyoza (dumplings); several fried seafood items, either panko or tempura-style.
The entrée section of the menu is divided into rice plates, yaki soba noodles, panko fried chicken or shrimp meals, hibachi and Japanese curry.
These entrée items all come in either a regular or large size.
The rice plates are just that — rice and meat — and the choices are New York strip steak, filet mignon, shrimp, grilled salmon, teriyaki steak, chicken or salmon.
The noodle plates include fried noodles, mixed vegetables and a choice of New York strip, chicken, scallops, shrimp or just noodles and vegetables.
The panko fried chicken and shrimp meals include fried rice, mixed vegetables and your choice of sauce.
The hibachi entrees include fried or steamed rice and hibachi vegetables. Choices include steak, chicken shrimp, scallops, fish and vegetable or a combination.
My guest chose the teriyaki steak and fried rice. The steak was cooked to the correct temperature and was very flavorful. The evening we visited, the vegetables included zucchini, carrots and onion.
For my entrée, I opted to order the shrimp and vegetable tempura from the appetizer menu.
The order included six large shrimp, carrots, onion and zucchini.
The shrimp and vegetables were perfectly battered and served piping hot, delicious.
Bamboo Sushi offers a large selection of sushi rolls, specialty rolls, sashimi and nigiri.
For the novice, the menu offers detailed descriptions of each type as well as an indication of which contain raw ingredients.
Our choice was the spicy shrimp roll which was very good.
For dessert Bamboo Sushi has mochi ice cream and New York Cheesecake.
The restaurant does offer beer and wine.
The restaurant is basically one big room with the sushi bar and seats along half of one wall with the counter at the back.
There are 12 seats at the bar and about 15 tables.
The restaurant is very busy, even on a Monday evening, with families stopping by for a quick meal or for takeout.
Service was pleasant and fast.
If you are dining in, there is modified table service.
Orders are taken at the counter and delivered to your table.
Diners get their own drinks and utensils at the back of the room.
