DESTIN — CoCo’s Mexican Restaurant stands out among the crowds.
The authentic Mexican eatery opened three months ago at 14091 Emerald Coast Parkway beside Beall's and the owner, Cesar Reyes, says the restaurant business is in his blood.
“We've been doing this for a long time,” Reyes said. "It's tradition to work in the restaurant business."
On a quiet Wednesday afternoon, the tropical-themed restaurant was filled with diners enjoying everything from tacos to the over-sized burritos alongside a basket of chips with their choice of four different sauces.
Reyes says he grew up in the restaurant business in Mexico City helping his dad. Now, he’s working with his family to bring a piece of home to the Emerald Coast.
Coco's offers a variety of authentic Mexican dishes from nachos and tacos to seafood and vegetarian dishes.
Prices range from $6.55 to $13.99. The restaurant also offers a wide selection of beer to go with each dish.
“I wanted to bring a part of my home to Destin,” Reyes said.
