Drive-in movies return to the Belmont
PENSACOLA - Screeching its way back to the Belmont Art and Cultural Center's parking lot is the Classic and Custom Car Drive-in Movie, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 20. As the sun goes down, the nostalgia returns of those summer evenings with great movies, good friends and fun times. All types of cars are welcome, but classic and custom car owners are encouraged to show off their wheels. June's event hosted over 30 classic and muscle cars.
The event will feature a public service short, "What to do in case of a Zombie Attack" and the feature film "Gumball Rally" and will begin at dusk.
Cost is $15 per carload, and the movies will be shown in the parking lot of the Belmont Arts and Cultural Center located at 401 Reus St. (corner of Belmont and Devilliers).
Drivers are asked to enter on the east (Reus St.) side of the parking lot and tall vehicles will be asked to park behind shorter ones. Sound will be broadcast over the cars' FM radios. A concession stand will also be in operation selling hamburgers, hot dogs, cold drinks, chips and popcorn. Walk-in chair seating is also available, and participants are asked to arrive early for a good spot for the show.
