Art exhibits: Mattie Kelly Arts Center

Two solo exhibitions, Dylan Collins: Diagrammatic Disarray and Wendy Wische: In Search of Magic, will run concurrently in the McIlroy and Holzhauer Galleries from Nov. 1 through Dec. 6.

Collins' large colorful sculptures, hybrid forms that combine features of human, animal and machine, are light, intricate compositions in traditionally heavy materials like cast metal and plastic.

Wischer creates mixed-media sculptures covered in thousands of tiny mirrored tiles onto which light is strategically directed to create reflections on walls, floor and ceiling. She explores the boundaries between nature, technology, science, mythology and personal identity and seeks to expose the sacred in everyday life by transforming gallery space with her light sculptures.

The Galleries are in the Mattie Kelly Arts Center at Northwest Florida State College in Niceville.
