Blanket drive is this month

LYNN HAVEN -- The annual Make a Blanket Day sponsored by Project Linus, to provide handmade quilts and blankets to seriously ill and traumatized children in Bay and surrounding counties, will be Feb. 18 at Jim’s Vacuum and Sewing Center, State (Ohio Avenue) in Lynn Haven, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Blankets can be dropped off at Jim’s until Feb. 18. Jim’s is donating a new Janome sewing machine for a drawing. For every blanket donated, the donor’s name will be added to the drawing. The more blankets donated, the better the chance of winning. The drawing will be at 4 p.m. on Feb 18. The donor’s name should be attached to the blankets.

Blankets may be sewn, quilted, knitted, crocheted or tied or knotted fleece. Blankets of wool, upholstery fabric, corduroy, vinyl, polyester, double knit or with holiday themes cannot be accepted. Only blankets from nonsmokers and a smoke-free environment are requested.

For more information call Marianne Britton, Bay County coordinator 271-2478 or blankets4kids@hotmail.com.
