FORT WALTON BEACH — At Chatterbox Salon you are never just a customer. You are family.

Angela Beeton, who took ownership of the salon seven years ago, describes her salon as ever-changing and open to anyone ready for some pampering.

“We do everything here,” Beeton said. “We do all types of hair, massages, facials. Everyone here runs their own individual shop, but we all learn from one another.”

Jacqueline Stevens walked into the salon Wednesday morning before a doctor’s appointment just to get a little hair fix up. She sat back and chatted and laughed with the women in the salon as her hair went from a quick fix to slick and stylish.

“I send everybody I know here,” Stevens said. “These women are great. They always take care of me and my kids. This is the greatest group of ladies. Plus, there’s lots of zebra print, which I love.”

Destiny Bussman, a hairstylist at Chatterbox, said her clients feel at home when they walk into get their hair done.

“It’s comfortable here, family oriented,” Bussman said. “We want to know what our customer wants and we take the time to find out.”

“And we’re all very passionate about what we’re doing,” added stylist Jeanine Welch.

The salon, which was originally opened in the 1950s under different ownership, has gone through significant changes since Beeton took over. The best part, she says, is that the changes are never-ending.

“We’re always looking for the newest thing and trying to see what works for this business,” Beeton said. “You can come in one day and then the next day the shop will look completely different.”

From their massage therapist and facial expert to Barbara Scott the official bow-maker of the salon, Chatterbox covers everything a customer could want. The shop sales TIGI cosmetics, Scentsy candles and hair products such as Redken and Matrix.

“We’re not a numbers salon,” Beeton said. “We want to know about your lifestyle. We like to make sure we do what’s best for our customers.”
