For those visitors who miss the cold and ice, the ice skating rink at The Village of Baytowne Wharf is the perfect opportunity to get into the winter spirit. The seasonal ice skating rink has become a local holiday favorite. For $10 guests can skate for an hour and a half. Skate rental is available for $2. Santa goes techno and will also do personal Skype video chats with children/families from his workshop to talk about their upcoming trip to Sandestin. Friday 7:00 p.m. – Kick-off the holiday season with a family movie under the stars!
Saturday 6-9 p.m. – The fun continues Saturday, with a preview to 12 Nights of Lights, Tree Lighting, and of course, Santa Claus! Welcome Santa to Baytowne and cheer him on as he lights the Village Christmas Tree. Stick around for a preview to our choreographed light show, 12 Nights of Lights, and watch as fireworks light up the sky over the lagoon. Make a lantern for the upcoming Baytowne Lantern Parade as you enjoy a choir singing your holiday favorites! And last, but not least, visit Kris Kringle himself! Santa Tuck-Ins

Sandestin guests can bring the magic of Christmas to their vacation rental with a personal visit from Santa Claus. Parents are welcome to take pictures as Santa offers each child a personalized gift. After going over his list and checking it twice, Santa will read a Christmas story. A portion of the proceeds go to Toys for Tots.

12 Nights of Lights

Tee Off for Toys
When: December 7-8, 2012
Where: Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort
People are asked to donate new, unwrapped toys or gift cards with a value of $15 or more and in exchange guests can play Sandestin's golf courses for just the green and golf car fee ($20). Sandestin will offer golf at all three of its public courses, Raven Golf Club, Baytowne Golf Club and The Links Course. All toys and donations will be given to Harvest House’s “Hope for Holidays” and Children in Crisis programs, both benefiting children and families in need this holiday season. Luminaria Run at Sandestin
When: Saturday, December 8, 2012; 5-7 p.m.
Where: Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort
Shelter House – Domestic Violence Center and Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort are teaming up for 2nd Annual Luminaria Run. The course will be lined with more than 2,000 luminarias, lighting the path for the walkers/runners and representing how Shelter House and its community partners light the way to a safer place for victims of domestic violence in Okaloosa and Walton counties. The race includes 5k and 9k courses winding throughout Sandestin. The 9k distance serves as a reminder that a woman is assaulted or beaten every nine seconds in the U.S. The public is encouraged to decorate a luminaria bag to be placed along the course in honor or in memory of a loved one. Baytowne Holiday Lantern Parade

In celebration of the holiday season, The Village of Baytowne Wharf presents the Holiday Paper Lantern Parade. This community event will feature commissioned paper lanterns in the shapes of iconic symbols of the holiday season. Sandestin homeowners help us kick off the evening with a lighted, golf cart Christmas Parade at 6pm.We invite all individuals and groups to participate by making their own paper lanterns.
