For almost 20 years, the city’s Children’s Park has been a hidden gem for families looking for a place to entertain their kids for hours on end. Tucked in a walled and gated area near City Hall, the park offers a safe and unique place for kids to play.
Park it here:
Kids 12 and under can clamber over a wide variety of playground equipment. Even when the park draws crowds there is plenty of space to play. When it’s open, the Spray Park offers a place to cool off with water splashing down, up and around from various colorfully-themed pipes. Pack a picnic and enjoy the day at one of over a dozen covered picnic tables scattered through the park.
Be a good sport:
No soccer or footballs are allowed, but kids can get a workout running between the play areas. Parents might even burn a few calories tagging behind them.
The park features no less than six plastic jungle gyms, 10 slides and a rock-climbing wall.
Bring some water for hot days, and don’t forget a towel!
